What is heritage today, and how is it enmeshed with communities, governance, identity, and power? This series draws together studies of heritage in its many forms which consider its role and impact at local, national, and global scales. These studies of the content and praxis of heritage engage stories of the past, struggles in the present, and visions of the future.

This series views heritage capaciously, including archaeology, landscapes, archives, language, material and intangible culture, the built environment, museums, and more. Central to all of these forms of heritage is the value that communities assign and nurture in them and the empowerment communities draw from them.
